Online Workshop: Kubernetes for Beginners

kubernetesKubernetes is currently the most advanced tool for container orchestration. All major cloud operators (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Open Telekom Cloud, Microsoft Azure …) now offer it as a managed service. It enables DevOps to fully automate their implementations and thus make processes much more efficient.

The challenge with Kubernetes is the complexity. In order to facilitate the first steps, we have created a two-day online beginner workshop in cooperation with SysEleven: At the end of the workshop, participants can deploy an app, equip it with an external IP address and create DNS entries and SSL certificates.

The workshop is aimed at software developers and system administrators who want to understand and learn the basics of design, setup and administration of containers in a Kubernetes cluster.

Basic knowledge of Linux Shell and container technology (e.g. Docker) and your own laptop with SSH installed are prerequisites for participation.

The workshop will be held via video conference. The trainers use the Alfaview tool for this. Alfaview is an online video conferencing system and can be installed without administrator rights on any modern computer running Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS and Linux. Participants can download the program here and register: http://support.alfaview.com/de/support/solutions/articles/12000043801-download-installation-aktualisierung
